The March webinar will discuss the etiology of peripheral and central sensitization of pain. Pain as defined by the International Association for the Study of Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with or resembling actual or potential tissue damage.
Pain is always a personal experience that is influenced to varying degrees by biological, psychological, and social factors. Pain and nociception are different phenomena. Although pain usually serves an adaptive role, it may have adverse effects on function, social and psychological well-being.
Join Dr. Timothy Demchak, PhD, ATC of Indiana State University as he reviews acute pain pathways and the body’s own pain modulation pathway, along with the effects of photobiomodulation on pain, and treatment strategies based on the patient’s stage of pain. Dr. Christopher Carraway, DC will moderate the webinar, and together they will review pain treatment protocols for past clinical cases.
